Scott Colbear, Managing director of Doncaster agency Colbear, has returned with lots of insight into the European Market place following the recent GCN meeting in Berlin.
The GCN is an international meeting for communication professionals who work with mass media. The meetings are extremely useful, creating an opportunity for companies across Europe and America to get together and share ideas, experiences and resources, also to liaise with clients in different countries.
Scott explains: “We originally became part of the global network to enable us to handle European and American campaigns for our clients. It has also lead to new account wins including Case Tractors, Fellowes Office Products Continental Tyres, and Underwriters Labourites (UL) who are also a member of the GCN.
“Since then we have successfully implemented and managed a number of international initiatives including a website for Hotel Casablanca in Spain and also a 48 sheet poster campaign on the London Underground for the Spanish Tourist Board.”
Scott concluded: “Working in partnership with agencies across Europe and America has enabled us not only to share artwork on an international level to reduce clients’ costs, but also to tap into essential services such as translation, photography and media information and perhaps most importantly of all, gain vital local knowledge and an understanding of cultural differences.
